On September 2012, Secretariat for Youth of the Westpomeranian Region has become a legitimate member of Platform Network. The partnership inside the network of twinning organizations interested in European youth policy brings with itself new opportunities concerning both the implementation of international projects created in order to engage youth and aiding youth organizations from Westpomerania in their pursuit of partnership with foreign units.
Secretariat for Youth had been invited to cooperate within the framework of the Platform Network program in November 23-26, 2010. The general meeting for the members of the organization had taken place in Greifswald. During the talks, current and past achievements of Secretariat for Youth as a member of the Platform Network’s observer have been presented and Secretariat for Youth has been formally adopted as the Platform observer’s legitimate member.
The platform is a network of 23 cooperating with each other regions, sub-regions and cities from whole Europe. The platform has been established in the year 1986. Among its members are self-governing bodies from Luxemburg, United Kingdom, Germany, Greece, Czech Republic, Slovenia and Poland. The aim of the platform is to promote youth mobility and prevent – through organizing youth camps and other activities, for example, of the sport, sightseeing or artistic character – social exclusion of young people. Each of the partner regions selects one organization to be responsible for the cooperation in the platform framework. In Westpomeranian Region, such an organization is Secretariat for Youth. Thank to the participation in the network we have the ability to establish partnership and youth cooperation in all of the countries in Europe, and the ability to execute youth projects as a part of the Erasmus+ project and not only.
